1. Job purpose
To partner with existing Independent national account customers to grow and retain their business in line with sales targets and key metrics through establishing and executing joint business plans.
2. Dimensions
Works in a sales target driven environment with a clear ledger. The role works alongside other NAMs as part of a divisional Key Accounts team reporting into a Key Accounts Controller or Senior NAM. Divisional role with national travel and accountability for:
Portfolio size 5-12 accounts approx. (average 9 accounts)
Employees None
Profit £4-5M NSV £1-£1.5M TM
The role has an impact on their division in the Independent business.
3. Role context
Field based Key Account Manager in one of the Independent Sales Divisions. Has to work with numerous stakeholders internally whilst also influencing owner and board level stakeholders of customers and maintaining a network of external contacts to be ahead of the competition. Has to understand and be a part of setting up contractual terms with customers. Typically manages a portfolio of accounts 5-12 accounts with a value of £4-5m NSV/£1-1.5m TM (average around 9 accounts).
Customer management is the core part of the role along with a proactive stance to continually drive performance through customer spend growth and make relevant decisions to enable this.
