The Role

This National Account Manager (NAM) will be the primary customer interface with Tesco Own Label buyer for Biscuits and Crisps, Snacks and Nuts (CSN) with occasional contact with Buying Manager as required. They will be responsible for the commercial performance of Burton’s Biscuit Company’s Sweet and Savoury Partnerships portfolio through all physical Customer formats (Hypermarkets, Supermarkets, and Express) in Tesco UK.


Typical Day

The successful National Account Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for Tesco performance across all financial measures: Burtons Partnerships P&L (Tonnage, Revenue, Gross Contribution, TCAM)

  • Develop Tesco specific strategies and tactics to deliver budgeted P&L, increase market share, and customer alignment.

  • Negotiate all pricing, trading terms, promotions, fixed investments and any item with financial impact

  • Work with Finance manager to navigate Net Sales agreement with Tesco

  • Work with Partnerships Customer Development Manager to meet Burtons and Tesco deadline

  • Work with Supply Chain, and Demand Planner to ensure accurate forecasting


About You

The successful NAM will have/be:

  • Strong financial acumen, with previous P&L responsibility, preferably within large-scale Top 4 retail customer

  • Experience of working within food industry and within Impulse advantageous

  • Ideally large-scale customer experience at NAE/JNAM/NAM level.
