National Account Manager - High Street Retail + Booker Retail Partners
This organisation is a market leading and instantly recognised ambient food brand with a turnover well in excess of £100m. They have an excellent reputation in the industry for speed of decision making, pace, flexibility and making things happen. Financially strong, which has led to a recent acquisition, and further investment planned, this is an exciting time to join the business along with a number of exec members and play a key role in delivering a highly ambitious but achievable growth target, whilst having a lot of fun along the way. This organisation suits a classically trained blue chip operator who is ready to make a move into a slightly smaller environment that is not constrained by process and bureaucracy, but still work with industry leaders and supported by an already successful brand.
The business is looking to appoint a National Account Manager or Junior National Account Manager to the impulse team. This role will lead the agenda in the High Street with Boots and WH Smiths for example and with Booker Retail Partners. Following recent wins in the High Street, this is a great opportunity to lead these customers, bringing to market high volumes of NPD and building on already successful existing relationships, whilst identifying new opportunities for growth. Equally, the activities surrounding Booker in the market and their increasing retail presence mean this is a great time to bring traditional grocery account management skills to secure collaborative relationships and deliver the business objectives.
This would suit a high potential NAE or Account Exec who is looking to make their first step into a NAM role. You will have ideally completed a graduate development scheme, have demonstrable career progression, and have been operating as a NAE on a high profile grocery retail or strategically important customer, ideally in an impulse product category. You will be brand and consumer led by background, and has experience of JBP’s, range reviews and commercial negotiations, and work in a relationship and consumer insight led style. This environment and customer base would not suit a trader, and as such a classical blue chip brand background is preferred, where you have received fantastic training, and now want to implement this in an entrepreneurial business which is prepared to give you responsibility and the freedom to win.
This role will give someone their first taste of a NAM role, and is seen as a development role in the business to the other customer channels including grocery, and as such can offer the successful candidate fantastic career progression opportunities.
