Job Details
We are looking for a confident, credible New Business Manager to deliver strategic partnerships across Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Birmingham, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, South East and South West Wales.
As Regional Corporate New Business Manager you’ll develop and implement your own regional new business strategy as part of the wider team approach to corporate fundraising, targeting regionally based companies with an annual donation value of £30k-£150k.
We need you to develop relationships that deliver strategic partnerships closely aligned with customer-needs so, whether gained in the charity or corporate sector, your track record must evidence real success in achieving financial targets and acquiring new business. Both robust and tenacious in the face of setbacks and challenges, you know how to strike the balance between persistence, patience and diplomacy - delivering inspiring pitches and writing compelling proposals as well as cold approaches to potential partners.
Diverse and forward thinking, we have one of the largest and most successful fundraising teams in the sector. But, with four million people living with cancer by 2030, it’s essential we further that success and meet challenging fundraising targets to expand our vital work.
You must be demonstrably confident, credible and persuasive in your dealings with senior decisions makers in commercial environments, aided by your developed understanding of what makes a charity attractive to business. Your record of achievements will therefore have been supported by strong active listening skills allied to solution selling techniques, and by well-developed writing, presentation, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
There is substantial requirement for cross-organisational working which proactively draws on skills and knowledge throughout our charity. Perfectly at ease working independently, you nevertheless involve team-members in all relevant new business approaches, using leadership, team-working and influencing skills to extract the greatest value from the relationships you build inside Macmillan as well as with prospects and partners.
