Recruiters have to work harder than ever to get the best national account managers and sales people, according to a salary survey published by The Grocer.
The survey highlights the current salaries available for sales people across nine roles, including Sales Directors, Category Managers and all levels of National Accounts.
It certainly makes for interesting reading - basic salaries at the higher end of the scale are anywhere up to seven times the national average, while national account managers have seen little or no growth in remuneration in recent years.
Steve Simmance, from The Simmance Partnership who collated the data in the survey suggests “the role of the NAM has changed beyond proportion. (They) don’t sell any more, (they) transact, and maybe the reason the value of the role financially has devalued is because the job is different.”
