Job Details
We are working with an exciting family owned business who are looking to add an experienced raw materials manager to join the existing tight knit team supplying high quality animal feeds across the poultry, pet foods and equine sector. This role will see you not only integral in the procurement of the raw materials, but also contributing to the procurement strategy in a management position.
The Job:
This will compile a lot of very interesting components and is a perfect next step for an existing trader, buyer or procurement professional who is looking for a more senior role comprising of a certain amount of business strategy. They will be looking for the successful candidate to contribute a thorough procurement strategy that will take care of both raw material procurement and packaging whilst also making sure you manage the supplier relationships that are crucial to the success of your strategy.
The day-to-day of this role will be an intricate mix of negotiating contracts and price, coordinating the supply chain within the business and ensuring stock levels are maintained within the business at any one time. There will be other requirements to call off deliveries and develop price lists where applicable to help the business in other functions. It is a very well-rounded role that is looking for someone who is interested in a more substantial procurement role.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate for this role will have the following:
Experience within the procurement supply chain for feed ingredients, pet food or cereal procurement. Ideally over 5 years' experience in these sectors.
Negotiating and relationship building is a crucial part of this role, so strong negotiating experience and a great level of account management experience would be preferred.
Experience of stock control and data analysis will be crucial for this role, so good Microsoft Office skills will be very much required.
Any experience directly with feed mills or milling will be very advantageous. Along with people management skills.
