COMMERCIAL EXECUTIVE - INGREDIENTS
Competitive salary, plus bonus, car & benefits
Home based (flexible)
The company
Meadow Foods, the UK’s largest independent dairy group with a turnover of £450m, supplies dairy based ingredients to food manufacturing customers from three dedicated and well-invested processing sites. Working closely and in partnership with both UK and global food manufacturers, the company supplies high quality ingredients that are used in a wide range of food products including ice cream, chilled desserts, chocolate confectionery, ready meals, soups, sauces and biscuits. The company is now seeking to appoint a Commercial Executive to support and drive their ambitious growth plans.
The role
Reporting to a Commercial Manager the Commercial Executive will have autonomous responsibility for developing new customer opportunities as well as managing a portfolio of existing food manufacturing accounts. Key objectives for the role will be to deliver growth, maximise profit and develop long-term business relationships, all of which are consistent with the company’s strategic goals. In addition, you’ll be part of a company that gives real autonomy, responsibility and trust and has a strong ‘people culture’ at its centre. There will be personal development opportunities and a great opportunity to learn with a leading FMCG food ingredients business.
About you
You are likely to be a graduate-calibre individual with 2-3 years previous FMCG sales experience as Territory Manager, National Account Exec, Business Development Exec or similar. You are actively looking to step up into your first commercial account management role and taking full responsibility for your own customer base. Your background is likely to be in food and drink and previous experience of the dairy category would be an advantage but not essential. More importantly, you will need to be a natural self-starter, displaying a confident, articulate and persuasive personality, combined with a passion and drive for success and a willingness to develop further. The role is home-based (flexible) with regular visits to the company’s processing sites, in Chester, Yorkshire and Peterborough.
If you are keen to develop a long-term career in commercial account management and feel you have the relevant skills and experience then please apply, providing your salary details. Alternatively send your CV together with details of your current salary package details to mariam@smithcarey.co.uk quoting reference number MM/2053.
Closing Date for applications: 8th April, 2019
