To £67k + bonus, car allowance & benefits

The Company

A fantastic and rare opportunity to join a new owner of a UK household favourite confectionery brand and to be involved at the very outset of an exciting new venture, as they set up a new chocolate startup company. This iconic confectionery brand has over £50m (RSV) sales across multiple channels. Our client is a brand new European confectionery company, set up with PE backing to realise the potential of a number of iconic brands.

With a clear vision and strategy for growth, the business has set its sights on significantly expanding its UK operations over the next few years. They intend to invest heavily in the market, including significant expenditure in brand marketing and importantly, people.

The Role

As a result, the company are now seeking a Market, Planning and Strategy Manager to take on full responsibility for the 3Ps, namely price, promotions and place. Reporting to the UK/I Country Director, this role is high profile and will have a broad remit. You will co-ordinate the internal sales plan to ensure business results delivery. You will define and manage forecasting, trade terms and promotional strategy across both the company’s direct customers and a distributive partner for IC. Your role will also cover category development responsibilities, including external selling story as well as market and competitor analysis. This is an exciting and challenging role that requires strong commercial acumen, clear strategic thinking, influencing skills and a proven track record of driving profitable category growth.

About You

You are a talented commercial National Account Manager, or perhaps you have worked in Customer or Trade Marketing, and have been thinking about your next step. To succeed in this pivotal role you must bring strategic thinking to a nimble and entrepreneurial business. You will need to be an integral stakeholder between sales, finance and marketing teams and a distributive partner to develop successful business strategies.

You are persuasive, analytical and highly commercial. You are an extremely ambitious, driven individual with a personal style which enables you to work as a key member of a small, agile, fast-paced team.  Confectionery / Impulse category or start up experience would be an added advantage.

There is flexibility on location but candidates will ultimately be required to work from the company’s London based offices c.2-3 days per week.

Come and talk to us if…

- You’re ready to use your broad commercial experience in a startup environment.

- You’re looking for a different challenge from the ‘multi-national’ norm.

- You’re ready to come on a new and exciting journey to help shape the destiny of an iconic brand.

Please apply online or email Maria at mariam@smithcarey.co.uk quoting reference MM/2052, including full details of your current benefits package.
