Nigel Wright are delighted to be working with one of the top FMCG clients based in Newcastle, who are now looking to recruit a New Business Development Manager.


The Role


To grow profitable & sustainable sales across a range of traditional & non-traditional product selling outlets, whilst also developing exiting accounts that have the potential to grow faster than the market, via a combination of innovation, existing product & service, robust promotional plans and relationship development.

Accountability and Responsibility



• Deliver a proactive business development strategy resulting in the generation of new leads
• Be accountable for growing sales through existing customers within defined channels, developing relationships whilst introducing new products in addition to creating new opportunities
• Maintain and develop a prospective database and pursue relevant sales opportunities to grow sales
• Preparation of presentations which are in line with brand guidelines, for delivery to existing and potential customers
• Clearly and confidently demonstrate products to retailers discussing technical specification and benefits of the product to the end user
• As a Mayborn brand ambassador you will represent the Company at trade shows and exhibitions
• Supporting Senior Sales team
• Support Commercial director on UK specific projects



The Individual



• You will preferably possess FMCG experience – supported on Grocers
• Proven experience of working in a competitive sales environment, specifically within the new business development field
• Ability to demonstrate proven success within NBD and confidence to deliver effective negotiation
• Has a professional approach to providing an excellent standard of service
• Strong communicator at all levels in both written and verbal communication
• Proven effectiveness at stakeholder management/ collaboration
• Good with the numbers - highly analytical and great attention to detail
• A self-starter by nature with a ‘can do’ attitude
• Has the drive to win and succeed, with a strong passion to achieve sales
• Able to think fast & find the right solution
• High energy and positive state of mind, with a strong sense of resilience and ability to bounce back when challenged
• A strong team player by nature
