My client, based in London, are looking to add a Sales Operations Manager - Bicycles to their market leading bicycle manufacturing business
Client Details
My client, based in London, are a leading manufacturer of bicycles. Manufactured in the UK and with a very established brand they are leading the way in innovation and the way we live within cities.
Description
The role of Sales Operations Manager [SOM] requires a highly meticulous, commercially rounded, organised individual to take immediate ownership of the internal sales team at my client.
Main duties
Forecasting and maintaining the Sales Pipeline:
- Ensure accurate rolling 12 month forecast for my client's products is collated and maintained via Distributors, your internal team of Sales Account Managers, and from Direct Market remote territory Sales Managers
- Ensure weekly order pipeline fill, in line with your global sales forecast and company budget
- Working closely with the Finance and Despatch departments, proactively resolve payment issues to support smooth flow of Goods in accordance with the shipping schedule, ensuring on-time delivery
Commercial Calendar and Trade Communications
- Regularly feed into, review, amend and help communicate the Commercial Calendar to all internal stakeholders and trade customers
- Working closely with the internal Sales and Marketing teams, ensure global trade communications are accurate from a sales information perspective, and are delivered on time across the differing sales channels and languages
Product
- Coordinating new product and product phase out planning with stakeholders
- Ensure regular review of new products with the Head of Product Management, the Demand Planner and the sales team
- Lead a regular Parts and Accessories review meeting with Marketing, Digital and Technical representatives to ensure product offer is in line with customer needs
- Ensure all products are correctly listed and available through the online Trade Platform
Pricing
- Ensure smooth introduction and implementation of new pricing to global trade customers and my client's sales teams
- Gathering and analysing global pricing and competitor pricing and inform business pricing decisions
Distribution Development
- Manage on-boarding process of new markets and trade customers
- Manage day to day transition process when converting distributor led markets to direct distribution
- Generate and manage an opportunity tracker to secure availability of new products for customers
People & Team
- Managing, developing and motivating an internal team of Sales Account Managers
- Become the go-to-person, providing day to day support to external customers and internal stakeholders
- Setting and monitoring departmental KPIs
- Working with channel sales teams to ensure best practice and continual improvement of internal sales processes and sales tools

Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Extensive sales operations experience or similar
* Market aware and commercially focused
* Structured, process driven and exceedingly organised
* Must be able to work under pressure
* Highly numerate logical thinker
* Experience selling in a B2B or FMCG capacity
* Proven ability to lead a team with strong people management skills
* Must have excellent Microsoft Excel and analytical skills
* Ability to foster and build stakeholder relationships
Desirable
* Power BI
* Knowledge of supply chain models
