Job Details
A dominant food manufacturer are seeking an experienced buyer to coordinate and lead a packaging category, which represents a significant area of spend.
The Organisation
You will be joining a business who dominate their market niche, with a reputation for category leadership and innovation. They have invested heavily into insight based product development and product compliance.
You will be joining a growing team with stable leadership. Your role will require you to interact with other senior stakeholders and spend some time off site with suppliers.
The Role
You will have full ownership over the packaging category, with responsibility for identifying risks and cost saving opportunities. This is likely to involve constant supplier management and tendering, in addition to your critical contributions to NPD activity.
You will maintain a comprehensive and reliable supplier database, seeking to consolidate where appropriate and diversify where necessary.
You should expect to be targeted against OTIF and price variances.
The Person
You will have a background buying in the FMCG or retail sectors, preferably with a plastics/flexibles packaging focus.
Professionals with experience of NPD and innovation will be preferred. Candidates should expect to drive as part of their work on a regular basis.
