Fresh Produce Buyer | Large business

We are currently working with a highly regarded and progressive foodservice specialist, who are looking to appoint an established and effective Buyer to their team. You will ideally have experience of buying fresh produce in one form or another, whether this is for retail or for foodservice.

The Role

Managing the supply chain from producer to business, ensuring a clear communication link is maintained at all times.
Working closely with your suppliers and developing the relationships, but also introducing new suppliers where appropriate.
Leading developmental idea's and searching out new products that could be offered to the businesses customers.
Negotiating and achieving competitive prices, to ensure the business keeps it's overall edge.

The Candidate

You must have previous fresh produce experience and have dealt with a range of suppliers around the world.
Will have strong negotiation skills, be fully numerate and have a good eye for what sells.
Must be a good people person and be able to nurture key relationships.
