Role
Our client is a leading UK food manufacturer that is looking recruit a Senior National Account Manager to head up a major retail account. 


Reporting directly into the UK Sales Director, this role will require an individual to make business critical decisions quickly and efficiently to maximise category listings throughout the UK marketplace. 


Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development of sales in the UK.
  • Be able to manage a full P&L.
  • Develop and manage relationships with one of the UK's largest retailers.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the customers to provide profitable solutions.
  • Initialise projects and strategic commercial proposals which lead to category growth/increased listings.
  • Responsible for negotiating business proposals, terms and conditions and represent the company at customer visits, trade fairs, industry events and host seminars.
  • Coordinate with the marketing department to evaluate customer and consumer trends and capture value creation opportunities.
  • To liaise closely with the central office trading team.
  • Have the ability to manage an efficient sales and marketing team.

Essential requirements

  • A proven track record of success in a similar role and skilled at building effective relationships within an FMCG business.
  • Extensive (and current) experience of working with major retailers.

Desirable experience

  • Own-brand/Own-label experience
  • Top 6 Grocery experience 
  • High street retailer experience
