We're looking for a Senior Sales Manager to join our team to launch an exciting new chilled breakfast brand. You'll be talented, hard-working, a real impact player with the willingness to work with the founding team, and devise and execute the Company’s sales strategy.

With a passion for health and food, our Company is setting out to disrupt the chilled yoghurt and breakfast category. Our new brand, Ayem, is a little breakfast pot made with protein and omega 3 DHA that is the perfect way to kick start the day for busy people and build a healthy routine. Following a successful pop-up store in London, we are launching into selected retail chains from November and expanding our team to successfully grow.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly entrepreneurial, wants to get their hands dirty and be involved from the ground up in a new food brand. You will be a strong communicator, who has an understanding of a category based selling approach and a real passion for food – whether it’s for Ben’s Cookies or for Kale, it’s the passion we’re after, not the calorie count! You will be charismatic, ambitious and results orientated. The role will give the right candidate a chance to build it as he/she thinks it should be built, from the ground up. 

Primary Role

Your first and foremost responsibility is to grow sales of the new brand. You will focus on establishing, managing and developing commercial relationships with key retail chains including Whole Foods Market, Waitrose, Ocado and selected “beacon” retailers. 

Wider role and responsibilities

  • Manage commercial negotiations, developing strategic business goals and joint business plans with customers.
  • Work closely with the founding team to develop customer specific shopper marketing activation.
  • Work in tandem with the Operations Manager to ensure accurate, timely and seamless delivery to your accounts every single time
  • Act as the first point of contact for all matters between the customer and the business to ensure an aligned approach. Ensure thorough commercial administration practices are maintained for the accounts.
  • Ensure internal forecasting and reporting accuracy is of the highest standard. Review and manage forecast with the customer at key times or ahead of key promotions within the year
  • Manage agreed customer budget spend across all elements of the mix including promotions, fixed investment, online line, trade marketing spend. 

Requirements

  • As a start-up business in the UK, a can-do, results driven personality with a high degree of flexibility and a desire to succeed is essential. The ability to juggle many balls / accounts simultaneously and to get stuck in across all areas of the business.
  • Previous experience as a NAM or SNAM within a UK branded business is essential. 
  • Previous experience of managing your own account P&L and a proven negotiator, the successful candidate will be eager to keep growing their accountability and to keep challenging themselves to develop.
  • A strong commercial acumen and an ability to work autonomously with a strong drive and entrepreneurial nature are essential. A highly creative and strategic problem solver.
  • The successful candidate will be articulate, highly numerate, smart and feel very comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, keen to help with building structure and process within the business
  • Clean driving licence.
