...Do you remember when coffee was crap? I do. Heaping a teaspoon of dry, frozen granules into a mug and tipping the contents of a kettle onto them. It was the only way.

But hey, this isn't about me...

We had heard of this thing, this 'coffee bean' but it was for others, the exotic, those more mystical, more advanced than us. They had beans, plucked from cherries, ground into powder through which water percolated and bubbled, taking on elements of the sacred source. We had flinty granules, processed and spat from the gears of machines into glass jars and direct to the supermarket shelves where we would take them home, knowing that the highlight of the purchase would be the satisfying 'pop' as we burst the foil seal with the edge of our spoon...

It was a bitter experience, akin to drinking tar, but it was all we had...

Oh, I'm off again...

And then something happened, these places began appearing out of the rubble, furnished with reclaimed pallets and shiny, futuristic behemoths atop industrial looking bars dispensing a liquid that, while recognisible to our eyes as coffee, to our tongues was liquid gold. Exotic names, uncomfortable chairs, delicious muffins...

...BOOM!

Consumers had evolved; they want their lattes, flat whites, cappuccinos, single espressos, double espresso, skinny mochaccino etc etc... coffee has moved from the specialty bars to Hotels, Restaurants, Cafes. Even petrol stations now serve a product light years away from the bilge we used to buy.

Fancy a piece of the action?

We are looking for individuals with experience of working the HoReCa and foodservice channels within Glasgow and the surrounds or Ayrshire.

Managing your own customers for one of the leading independent coffee suppliers in the UK, you will have a demonstrable level of consistent high achievement within Field Sales. You don't have to have sold coffee but you do need a passion for it and have had comparable channel experience (On-Trade / HoReCa / Foodservice).

You will need organisational skills gained within the food and drink sector. We'll be looking to you to ensure all customer interaction in the field, including business development, quality audits, training, logistics, administration and all aspects of outstanding sales support are achieved.

This is a role for people who love to sell. Your experience of hitting sales targets is a demonstrable output of your ability in managing HoReCa accounts to build relationships and deliver first class customer service.

Sound Like You?

Great. In return for your skills, you will receive an excellent package of remuneration and benefits, realistic and achievable targets, and the opportunity to be a part of one of the most respected and inclusive organisations within the sector.

Oh, and did you know that 'Cappuccino' takes its name from the Capuchin friars: the color of the espresso mixed with frothed milk was similar to the color of the Capuchin robe?

Of course you did. Now, please get in touch.
