National Account Manager – Foodservice/Wholesale

Based: Home-Based (Leicester HQ)

Basic Salary Circa: £30,000 - £35,000 + Bonus + Package

My client are a major food manufacturing business who are the UK’s leaders in the snacking categories in which they operate. Supplying all the major retailers, they are also expanding globally with products available across Europe, USA and Australia. They manufacture an impressive range of snacking products from their purpose built factory in Leicestershire and work with a number of major retailers and foodservice businesses.   

Due to sustained levels of growth and profitability, my client is looking to take on a National Account Manager to deliver the sales plan within the foodservice and wholesale channel.

The Role:

  • You will be responsible for managing and nurturing collaborative relationships within the foodservice channel while developing joint business plans and delivering against agreed sales targets.
  • Proactively conduct strategic account reviews with the Head of Foodservice on your account activity on a regular basis. Review service needs and product usage trends for all categories.
  • Identify products and pricing that meet customer needs and the businesses objectives.
  • Conduct pricing reviews and manage billing disputes with your account.
  • Ensure the product delivered / offered to the customer meets the approval of the business and the customer’s specifications both technically and operationally.

The Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a food and beverage sales environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of the UK Foodservice Channel with specific experience of working with contract caterers as well as wholesalers and distributors.
  • Ideally you will have experience of both retailer brand and branded product portfolios and be highly commercially aware.
  • The ability to analyse data and identify drivers, trends and opportunities with a very keen eye for detail.
  • Above all my client is looking for experienced talent, someone who can nurture and really grow a relationship and who has the potential to take strides within a business that is advancing at pace.
