McCain are looking to appoint an individual to take on the position of Head of GB Corporate Affairs.  This role will give you the opportunity to directly influence to engage in the field of government relations, public relations and corporate communication, implementing the strategy in partnership with the GB board of Directors and Global Corporate Affairs team.  You will support profitable top line growth, brand reputation, best in class execution and driving a sustainable cost advantage.

As Head of GB Corporate Affairs you will be responsible for the GB based team and accountable for the GB Corporate Affairs function, aligning local GB strategy to global strategy for all internal, external and CSR communication and engagement activities, including:

  • Develop and execute strategy to maximise engagement with employees, the community and local stakeholders
  • Support effective business transformation by managing and delivering relevant communications
  • Act as a liaison between internal clients and external agencies
  • Network and work hand in hand with the government, the local community and the media, optimising opportunity and managing and mitigating risk
  • Provide relevant crisis and issue management support
  • Write or supervise the writing of materials in various formats to meet the specific communication objectives

Successful candidates will have proven experience operating in a similar role within an FMCG environment.  You will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and development of people, hold strong commercial acumen, and have strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills. You will be a natural networker, able to engage at all levels and already understand the FMCG industry along with industry bodies and associations.  You will be a character who can work to ambiguity, prioritise, with high attention to detail and be well organised.
