Commercial Manager -based Nairobi
Our client is a fast developing flower grower with several farms geographically spread across Kenya who grow and export cut flowers to a global market. With over one hundred hectares of flowers in production and exporting 365 days a year its primary markets are Europe and the Middle East. They export over 150 million stems a year with a turnover of approaching $25m.
The Position
We are looking to recruit a Commercial Manager to help develop the company's commercial strategy and support the Managing Director on all aspects of Sales and Marketing.
More specifically, the commercial manager will be responsible for developing brand awareness, relations with the end customer and opening up new markets to enable the business to grow. They will manage a commercial team, based in Nairobi, helping the team to make decisions on a daily basis which will optimize the sales potential of the company.
Lastly, the Commercial manager will work closely with the Managing Director to identify opportunities in the market place and develop a long term sales strategy that will ensure that the business maintains a strong position in the market.
The Candidate
The prospective candidate should have a good knowledge of the flower industry from a European and Middle Eastern perspective. They should be energetic, a good problem solver and most importantly be able to work as part of an already successful team.
Experience of living abroad would be an advantage but is not essential. Ideally the candidate will be required to live in Nairobi.
