About our Client: 

This business is the industry leader in the category, supplying both branded and own label proposition to the market. Their offering far outweighs most of their competitors and double digit growth in the past two years has led to the business acquiring new brands into their armoury. As a result, a really exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Lead to join the business and front the growth drive for a new division.  

These guys are ambitious but realistic and from a cultural standpoint are a family feel business with real support and passion for what they are doing and the opportunity they are embarking on.  

This international business is looking for their next UK General Manager - with the right work ethic and support this is an achievable goal within 3 years. 

 

About the Role: 

This is a bit different as the accounts vary from Premium High Street accounts to working with some of the biggest catalogue suppliers and small independents in the UK. The account relationships are in a good place and this part of the business prefers their account managers to develop strong relationships with the buyers rather than take a more combative stance (unlike some channels!). However, with this new division they are looking for candidate's who can open doors, get in front of people and make a deal in order to achieve significant results in line with the growth strategy. 

Because there are a huge number of SKU's in the business, the role can be complex and a high level of commerciality and numeracy are required. There is also a real degree of ambiguity and you must have the wherewithal to think on your feet, make suggestions on range stocking to the right people at the right time.  

 

About You: 

You will come with a strong background in national accounts with the ability to work numerically as well as creatively. Working successfully with key internal stakeholders is vital as you'll be working closely with the category, marketing and insights teams. 

This role will give the successful candidate a chance to take full responsibility for some accounts with whom they already have good relationships and take them to the next level.

However this is also about the bigger picture as this would really suit a candidate who is stuck in a business with a glass ceiling who wants to be rewarded for the amazing work you do. These guys are big on their reward culture with a real possibility of international progression too.
