The role

One of Britain's best known brands is looking for an interim account director to help lead on its channel teams. You will be managing a small team of national account manager/ executives and category managers leading the strategy behind the commercial success for a particular channel.

The client is looking for someone who can hit the ground running and can provide the leadership and vision that will allow them to pick up and deliver a strategy quickly. The channel has quite complex needs and needs someone who can understand the nuances of both independents and high street multiples.

You will be working with the sales director in developing the commercial goals which will be ambitious and then motivate and coach the team to hit these goals. The brand is a category leader but there is a lot of NPD and innovation in the category so you will be providing guidance on creative JBPs and developing close relationships with the retailers.

This particular channel is instrumental for the client in achieving they UK sales target and so they are looking for someone who is of a high calibre and worked at a senior level.

The person

To be successful in this role it is essential that you have the following skills:
  • Strong FMCG senior sales experience ideally at head of or controller level
  • Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to develop innovative sales strategies
  • Good stakeholder management skills
  • Experience of managing both high street and independent retailers
  • A visionary leader with a strategic mindset
  • Previous experience of working with a global brand would be useful
