Regional Account Manager – Tableware Products
£35-40,000 Basic, Good Bonus (OTE c£55,000), Company Car + benefits
Our Client supplies tableware products to the HORECA channel ( cups, saucers, Glassware, Cutlery etc ). They deal with both end users and also via the distributor channel ( the likes of 3663, Brakes, Alliance, Bunzl etc ). They manufacture 90% of the product that they sell themselves. The product is mainly premium / branded product, so candidates from a branded background would be slightly preferable
They are now looking to appoint a Regional Business Manager to look after the South East region (including East Anglia). This will be selling to both end users, and also the distributor channel. The end users will be hotels ( both independents and small regional multiples ) and restaurants ( both end users and small regional multiples ). Also some contract caterers ( again independent and small regionals ).
Some of the job holder’s time will be spent selling to end users ( about 30% ) but he/she will then set up an account with one of the distributors to fulfil the orders. Somewhere in the region of 70% of the person’s time will be spent liaising with the local reps of the national distributors ( 3663, Brakes etc ), as he/she will work very closely with them at all times.
Candidates can have sold pretty much any foodservice product. This could be cutlery / crockery or it could be a general foodservice type product ( i.e. food and drink, wine etc ). Whichever product background the candidates come from, they should have very strong end user exposure, and ( ideally ) at least some exposure to working with distributors ( but the more the better ). Candidates should ideally have a clear idea of how to manage the distributors, what makes them tick and how to maximise cooperation from them, and subsequently maximise ( joint ) sales and opportunities.
The role is home based, but the job holder will need to live in the southern half of the South East region eg London, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Essex etc
Remuneration - £35-40k Basic, Good Bonus. Choice of company car.
