Senior Buyer - Grocery

Your new company
A successful retailer who are renowned for their value and innovation are looking for a Senior Buyer or Buyer to join their successful and dedicated team. The role will be based in the North West and the job holder will be tasked with sourcing, developing, and managing one of their key product ranges within the Grocery Category.

Your new role
In this role you will be required to build and maintain collaborative relationships with a number suppliers from multinational brands through to smaller bespoke and own label manufacturers, where you will develop range plans, work closely with marketing on promotional planning and manage the P&L via forecasting sales for your category. You will also be required to lead, mentor and develop junior members of the team to deliver results on judged on sales, margin and profit

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a shrewd negotiator with a proven track record in a retail buying role within an FMCG category, preferably food and / or drink. Alternatively, we will consider a National Account Manager looking to take step in to Buying where they will be able to utilise their outstanding negotiation and commercial skills. Having a first rate market knowledge and an awareness of consumer trends is essential, as is a good eye for detail. This is an extremely fast paced environment so you will need to be one step ahead at all times and be able to thrive under pressure. You will also have the energy and tenacity to inspire and influence at all levels whilst having the ability to handle complex data and prioritise your workload.
