Our client is a market leading producer of Pet Food. The company have an exceptional reputation for innovative production of their product range that makes them stand out across the Pet Food industry. The company are growing rapidly with huge growth figures year on year and have great opportunities for progression within the business.

As National Account Manager you will inherit a portfolio of accounts such as Pets at Home, Batley’s, Waitrose, Morrison’s and B&M. You will need to grow and develop the existing account base working towards monthly targets. An element of the position will be new business development where you prospect new accounts to add to the portfolio.

The successful candidate will ideally be from within the Pet industry who is already an established National Account Manager or Key Account Manager looking to step up.

Main Duties:

  • To Achieve and exceed volume sales target for all assigned Retail National Accounts
  • Liaise with NAC to identify, negotiate with and support the sign off  on new national retailers
  • To achieve all targets set by Head of NAs in terms of revenue growth.
  • Achieve monthly, yearly and Company sales margins
  • Put in place account management and sales reporting tools
  • To regularly report achievements versus budget forecasts to the Head of National Accounts
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, as well as conducting business planning and visiting stores   to build market knowledge.
  • Be responsive to customer needs, holding regular review meetings to continue to grow the business
  • Manage day to day Account activities servicing the customer.
  • Support the NAC with the Communication of the brand strategy and marketing plans to Retailers
  • Provide the NAC with the development of system, procedures, calendar and tools, relating to advance sales, Category Management and National Account Management.
  • Liaise as and when required with Manufacturing and Logistics teams in relation to products, stock position and deliveries
  • Assist with the recruitment of sales team in line with Company requirements
  • Support the creation of a positive retail environment to ensure continued and mutual success
