Challenging opportunity for a really capable General Marketing Manager to set up a new Trade Marketing Team within a food business who supply speciality food to manufactures and Food Service businesses. The role reports to the Group Commercial Director.

OUR CLIENT is a highly successful food business who have a fantastic range of food ingredients sourced from around the world and distributed throughout the UK and Europe.

THE ROLE is for a Trade Marketing Manager, with responsibility for setting up a new team and delivering effective marketing collateral to support the sales teams and will report into the Group Commercial Director.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Develop a 12 months Trade Marketing Plan
  • Secure supplier funded advertising
  • Driver Trade Marketing Projects bring Sales, Supply Chain and Marketing Teams together to deliver sales promotions
  • Development of marketing tools such as Monthly Flyers, Market Brochures and Sales Aids
  • Match Hard Copy and Digital Collateral
  • Create and Launch Successful Sales Campaigns
  • Monitor success of campaigns
  • Promote new product launches
  • Produce product catalogues and brochures
  • Attend trade shows and manage exhibition stands etc.
  • Manage sales force information requests
  • Drive Website updates

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE will have a strong Trade Marketing & Business to Business marketing background with the ability to constantly deliver new ideas, marketing materials, promotions etc.

You will need:

  • Experience of Trade Marketing in the Food Distribution Channel - likely to have worked for a major player such as 3663/Bidvest, Brakes or Blakemore etc
  • Commercial decision making capabilities based on both Product Fit and commerciality of the product.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Self motivation, tenacious, persistence, aggression and the ability to influence and negotiate with both client and internal departments.
  • Proven marketing track record and a business degree, ideally in marketing & ideally you will have a CIM Diploma
