Production Manager Wet Wipes

Location: St Helens Merseyside

Salary: Highly Competitive

Client: Leading FMCG business supplying products for major UK retailers.

CSG has been retained by our client to search for a Production Manager with Wet Wipes manufacturing experience.

Our client is a leading FMCG business supplying products for major UK retailers. The business markets a wide range of branded and private label products into the FMCG market. The business has benefitted recently from substantial growth driven by innovative marketing and new product development which has led to increased market penetration.

As a result of this growth the business is investing in a new manufacturing facility to produce wet wipes and now requires an experienced production manager to manage the start-up of a new site including the commissioning of new machinery, running the site’s on-going production and planning functions and to achieve daily outputs to deliver key objectives.

The ideal candidate for this role must have; a minimum of 2 years’ production management or supervisory experience within an FMCG environment specialising in wet wipes manufacturing, strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, be results-orientated with a hands-on positive attitude for driving forward improvements and be able to work flexible hours in line with the needs of the business.

Below is an outline of the key responsibilities:

  • Manage the start-up of a new site including the commissioning of new machinery
  • Manage the site’s on-going production and planning functions
  • Manage and develop production operating systems to achieve daily outputs
  • Requisition and manage component stock ensuring stock accuracy
  • Manage operations in line with budgets including labour costs and output levels
  • Responsible for dealing with day to date operational issues
  • Ensuring compliance with HS&E systems, ISO and BRC standards
  • Achieve the delivery of key operational objectives
  • Responsibility for recruitment, training and ongoing development of production teams and individuals

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • A minimum of 2 years’ production management or supervisory experience within an FMCG environment specialising in wet wipes manufacturing
  • Results-orientated with a positive attitude for driving forward improvements
  • Ability to work flexible hours in line with the needs of the business
  • Knowledge of quality standards
