DIRECTOR OF INNOVATION & PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Up to £100k+ basic, 25% bonus, car allowance & executive benefits

Flexible UK location with travel

My client is a global category leading chilled food business with substantial multi-site manufacturing operations across the UK. This well-invested and profitable business is a substantial supplier to the top 8 grocery retail multiple accounts including a number where they are working at the highest level with strategic ‘integrated’ or category captaincy partnership trading agreements.

Following the appointment of a new main board commercial leader and resulting restructuring of the commercial/product innovation teams, they are now looking to appoint a highly experienced conceptual Director of Innovation & Product Development. This is a highly strategic and large multi-site team role that will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to really drive the innovation agenda with both brand as well as major customer conceptual food innovation, with a key focus on consumer demands and food trend developments.

As you would expect from an industry-leading high profile senior position, it will reflect a substantial benefits package for the selected candidate.

Having successfully grown your food development career across the FMCG industry, you are already in a large multi-site food innovation development role, with outstanding team leadership and motivation skills, together with a strong network and successful track record of launching profitable new food innovation strategies across the top 4 grocery retail multiple accounts. In short, my client wishes to appoint a highly motivated ‘foodie’ who can turn strategic food thinking and concepts into commercial reality, yet meet the needs of today’s modern discerning consumer.

This is a UK based role, which will require weekly travel and attendance to overseas manufacturing sites to ensure effective team leadership and direction.

If you feel you have what it takes to be successful in this role, please apply below or, in the first instance, call Mark Smith for a confidential discussion on 01488 649360 or email mark@smithcarey.co.uk attaching your up-to-date CV, together with full benefits package details quoting reference MS/1870.

Closing date for applications is 26 May 2017.
