Job Details

Sales Controller (Grocery) required to steer a portfolio of household grocery brands and private label initiatives through its next phase of their growth.

Supplying a portfolio of brands boasting weighty consumer loyalty, and with a strong focus around on-trend healthy initiatives, you will be handed complete autonomy to achieve future growth within an entrepreneurial working environment.

The business we represent is recognised as one of the fastest growing food manufacturing businesses in the UK at present.

Their growth is driven by continuous, market-leading product innovation and subsequent organic growth, as well as the continued acquisition of some of the UK's best loved and on-trend food brands.

The position of Sales Controller will play a key role as the number 2 to the Sales Director, acting in their absence when required, with a view to developing yourself as the obvious successor to their position when needed over the medium term.

You will play a key role in implementing and driving commercial strategy to achieve continued growth across all brand/category areas and play a pivotal role in the continued success of the business moving forward.

As well as strong strategic ability, it is important that the successful candidate demonstrates strong leadership skill, with significant emphasis around coaching and up-skilling sales teams in place.

To succeed in the role, it is imperative that applicants can demonstrate a strong and successful record of achievement whilst working with the UK's leading grocery multiples, and operating within credible branded FMCG environments.  Experience of driving private label ranges alongside brands will heavily support your application for the role.

You will ideally stem from a branded FMCG background, and be successfully leading direct reports in your current position.

At the same time, you will be at a stage in your career where you’re for progression to SD level, and have the attitude and commitment required to deliver strong results to be rewarded with this progression.

Company

For over a decade now, Food Industry Associates Ltd have proven to be a recruiter of choice for ambitious SME food and beverage manufacturers across the UK.  We don't recruit for the big corporates by choice.  Instead, we choose to work with companies with personality, entrepreneurial flare (not process), looking to disrupt the market with cutting edge innovation to provide consumers with better, healthier choices.

Are you an early stage start-up struggling to find the right solution to help you gain your fist listings in a specific customer channel before you can raise the budget to employ somebody on a permanent basis?  Maybe you know you need to source a commercial leader but aren't 100% clear in what format, or how to adequately incentivise somebody from a much larger business to join your mission?  Come speak to us.

If you're a more established business looking to bring fresh talent on board to drive ambitious sales targets, source a creative innovator to help you drive in to new extended categories, or looking to strengthen in marketing / category terms, again, come speak to us.

We've a proven record in recruiting talent for an array of businesses, helping them source commercial talent to help them achieve their goals.  From early stage sales talent through to equity-incentivised leadership roles, we've proven time and time again to find the right people for our clients at the first attempt.

How are we different to most of our competitors?  Unlike most, we don't have as diverse a portfolio of clients we work with.  However all those we do work with continuously come back to us whenever they next have another need.  In our opinion successful recruitment is achieved when two businesses truly 'partner' and collaborate together.  In our opinion the better we know you, the better we understand all the extra elements aside from simple skillset and experience to ensure the right 'fit' is identified at the first attempt.  In our opinion, this is recruitment, done properly.
