Head of Private Label

International family owned Food Manufacturer with products sold across 100 countries and offering iconic brands as well as an impressive Own Label range is looking for a talented Head of Private Label.

This role reports to the Sales Director and is responsible for all product aspects of the Private Label business, working closely with the commercial team setting and leading the strategy and execution of the Private Label products from concept to launch.

You will be responsible for a team of 5 direct reports and 3 indirect who wok as Product Managers and NPD and will be the senior contact for the major retailors for NPD projects.

The role will also include:

  • Clarity of factory capabilities and product portfolios
  • Knowledge of competitors, customer base
  • Innovation planning & development with a clear pipeline of NPD
  • Appraising and providing NPD requests/ briefs
  • Manage end to end product and artwork/ packaging development and legal checks
  • Develop optimum working practices between factories NPD, technical, manufacturing teams and supply chain planning
  • Monitoring and control for budgeted spend

Candidate profile:

  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • Food industry experience
  • Strong Private Label, ideally with some branded experience
  • Proven commercial project manager
  • Passion for product development
  • Experience of working with factories
  • Degree educated
