Our client is the leading FMCG (Food & Drink) business across multiple categories and channels in the UK.

Job Description

The Senior Category Manager will be required to do the following:
 

  • Develop and deliver tailored collaborative category plans across a number of key retail partners
  • Create the category strategy for one of the client's largest Grocery customers, including category engagement and resourcing
  • Lead the development and delivery of an annual category plan with your customer
  • Identify & clearly define key category and customer issues and opportunities and generate the insight needed to resolve these
  • Own and deliver the client's range and space metrics as agreed across your customer, and support delivery of the financial plan
  • Act as an integral partner to internal sales teams by providing category and customer insight that helps shape strategies & tactics
  • Establish new, and develop existing relationships with your customer, with the aim of moving us towards indispensable partner status to drive category, customer & the client's UK growth

The Successful Applicant

The successful Senior Category Manager will posses the following:
 

  • Graduate calibre - Business & Marketing
  • Significant category management experience, broad commercial experience and knowledge of the UK FMCG market (Grocery experience preferable but not essential)
  • Knowledge of continuous data sources and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships, influence internal and external stakeholders and work in a collaborative manner
  • Quick progression within Category roles across a couple of top FMCG businesses
  • Experience of managing a team of executives/managers
  • Leadership and inter-personal skills
  • Numerical and problem solving
  • Business and commercial acumen
  • Analytical mind with a curious nature and numerically strong
  • Advanced presentation and powerpoint skills
