A fantastic opportunity is now available to join a market leading non-food consumer goods business that is part of a major international group. Our client is one of the UK’s largest and most renowned suppliers in the gifting, collectables, licensed product and toy sectors. With a product range that is of a premium nature, this is a business that is highly innovative, clearly demonstrated by their regular new product launches. Our client boasts some fantastic brands and licenses that set them apart from their competitors and they are seeing very strong sales growth as a result. In addition, our client offers a warm and friendly culture that has a true family feel. In order to achieve their ambitious plans and continue to grow the business, our client is now in a position to recruit a National Business Manager to join their sales team.

 

Role 

As National Business Manager you will work closely with the UK Sales Director and play a key role in developing and implementing sales strategies, whilst also managing a sales team. You will be expected to manage the relationship with a selection of existing high profile national accounts whilst also focusing on winning new customers in various channels. Example targets could be toy specialists, online retailers and premium grocers. In addition, the role will also involve people management as you will lead a team of Area Sales Managers who cover the UK independent retail network. There is great potential for growth and this is a huge opportunity to take your career to the next level.

 

Requirements

In order to be considered for this role it is essential that you have experience of managing national accounts in relevant retail channels such as high street, department store, garden centre, and toy specialist. In addition it is vital that you can demonstrate a proven track record of opening new accounts with major UK retailers. Specific product experience isn’t essential, although to hit the ground running some exposure to industries such as toys, plush, gift or homewares may help. As this role involves managing people, it is important you can demonstrate true leadership qualities. Whilst previous experience of managing people could be of benefit, our client is also open to candidates at National Account Manager level who are looking to take their first step into management. Other qualities our client is looking for include strong presentation skills, a consistent and considered approach, and a positive can do attitude.
