An opportunity has arisen in the UK as Customer Business Manager (maternity cover) for our branded portfolio within the Discounter team. This role is an outstanding opportunity for individuals looking to progress their career within Customer Management, taking on the responsibility of managing a portfolio worth £13m net sales value.


This role offers full P&L responsibility for key Discounter customers, working alongside 1 other CBM within this channel. The successful applicant will have full P&L responsibility for volume, NSV, Gross Profit and Trade investment as well as market share and Sales growth. They will be required to negotiate business plans and manage sales of our full product range in line with Kimberly-Clark portfolio strategy. There will be a requirement to be creative, entrepreneurial and strategic as we look to develop our business within this growing channel.



The Discounter sector continues to grow in the UK and it is essential to pro-actively develop the customer relationship, building the business through the understanding of the sector whilst looking for ways to make this business more sustainable for future profitable growth. Prior grocery account management experience is essential and the successful candidate will receive focused training and coaching within role to support their functional and leadership development.

Experience Required:

  • Relevant grocery sales/account management experience gained within FMCG is essential
  • Experience of negotiating and communicating at retailer head office level essential
  • Experience of sales forecasting and profit modelling essential
  • Knowledge of category, shopper and consumer data is essential
  • Broader experience in Category Management will be advantageous
  • The right to work or ability to obtain the right to work in the UK
  • Available to take on a 6 month Fixed Term Maternity Cover Contract
  • You will be highly numerate, with excellent analytical skills and have a passion for negotiation.
  • Good communication skills are essential in order to build and develop the customer relationship, whilst the ability to demonstrate complex problem solving will be important to deliver key UK objectives.
  • An entrepreneurial ability to seek opportunities is key, whilst tailoring approach to trading dependent on account.
