Job Details

“My client is a privately owned, growing SME food business with an exciting product portfolio within the fresh and chilled market. Already established in the foodservice market and discount retailers, they are looking to continue to grow strategically within the discount and 2nd tier retailers.

They want a motivated Business Development Manager who has sold chilled or fresh products into these customers on a national basis.

The Role

  • Report to and liaise with the Sales Director on the week’s activities, past, present and future.
  • Proactively increasing sales to new and established customers to meet and if possible exceed sales targets.
  • Developing relationships with discount retailers such as Aldi, Lidl, Spar, Nisa, Budgens, Costco amongst others.
  • Managing an existing portfolio and driving new business.
  • Home based – organising diary and customer visits.

The Candidate

  • The successful applicant will have managed and developed strong contacts within the discount and 2nd tier retail sector.
  • MUST have dealt with discounters/2nd tier retailers.
  • Worked with chilled and fresh products is a MUST.
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set.
  • Strong negotiator and commercially aware.
  • Driven and motivated.
  • Experience working with an SME.

What’s on Offer

  • Monday to Friday.
  • £50,000-£55,000 basic + car + bonus package + benefits.
  • Candidate needs to be based in North England
  • Home based role
