Our client is a firmly established industry leader, with strong category influence and a portfolio of food brands that boast weighty consumer loyalty.

With significant impact across grocery retail, convenience, wholesale, discounter and export channels, the business is recognised as an industry leader in terms of product innovation and customer relationship management.

With a diverse and complex SKU portfolio supplied as both branded and retailer branded offerings, they provide a challenging yet hugely rewarding environment for ambitious individuals keen to own autonomy and make their own mark on the food industry.

The business is currently looking to recruit an inspirational Sales Director to

lead strategy and drive performance across UK grocery retail and discounter channels.

Reporting directly to the board Managin Director, the position will be fully accountable for the overall financial performance of all customer channels with a value of £100m+.  This is a highly visible role within the company’s structure, and ideal platform to accelerate your progression to General Management (or equivalent) levels in reward for strong performance.

Working closely with the Managing Director to devise and implement rolling 3-year strategy to achieve profitable growth of branded and private label offerings, you will heavily influence overall company and UK category performance.

It is important we identify individuals who want genuine autonomy and accountability, and are confident in their ability to inspire and deliver results.

Strong leadership is key, with the ability to add value to the lives of a relatively experienced team, as well as senior level customer contacts.

Acting as the no.2 to the Managing Director, you will often be required to deputise during busier periods and will directly manage NPD, category and marketing teams as well as your direct reports.

A strong appreciation of category management principles and product innovation process therefore will aid your ability to inspire and add-value both internally, as well as with customers.

People from all FMCG backgrounds will be considered for the role, however those with exposure to brand and private label manufacturing environments, and an understanding of the complex challenges presented by both will be viewed favourably.
