The business is a growing operator in the red meat industry, offering an exhaustive range of primal cut and processed added value products. Able to deliver almost any packaging solution their customers require, they have enjoyed great success in Ireland since their inception, and are now looking to consolidate existing business in the UK, with the ambition to develop a strong commercial team in the coming years to manage the business the successful individual will be winning for them.  

The role is one which will require an in-depth, first-hand experience of the meat industry, and a solid grasp on red meat in particular at controller level and above is essential. The successful individual will bring their existing contacts to the role, and will also be someone who shares the strategic ambition of the company; constantly looking to capitalise on commercial opportunities. This is a “hunter” role – you will need to have a strong plan and will know how to deliver it. The role also includes an element of account management, and you will be confident and comfortable in dealing with large existing accounts. 

You will work autonomously amongst tough customers, and will relish the opportunity to grow business relationships from the ground up. You will have had a number of years’ management experience, as the intention is to make the successful individual a lead point for the new commercial team. Your personal outlook will be one whereby you will be able to identify commercial opportunities from afar and have a strong plan to capitalise on them. 

This opportunity is one in which the only measure of success will be winning business and adding marginal value. You will have the potential to be a key individual in a market-disrupting business which could change the face of the UK meat industry in the next few years, and the only limits to your success will be any you place on yourself.
