FREE TRADE SALES MANAGER

JW Lees has an exciting opportunity for a Free Trade Sales Manager to join the growing team. We’re going further to brew great times. Want to be part of it?

As a Free Trade Sales Manager you’ll get the chance to shine, contribute to our success each and every day and our team will give you their full support to help you to rise to the top.

With barrels of personality and enthusiasm by the gallon, you’ll be an expert in communication and know how to work well as part of a team. Leading by example, your work ethic will set the bar high and you’ll be as interesting and exciting as our award winning ales.  Ideally a professional in your field or one in the making, you’ll remain super cool under pressure and have a passion for setting and delivering outstanding and memorable customer experiences.

Want to manage and support a team of Area Managers in selling our great beers and supporting products? We want to be the brewery of choice for all free trade customers within the North West, supplying our beers for the enjoyment of all, a great challenge for the right person.

You will have the opportunity to make a difference in how we sell and support our beers, supported by third party products, taking ownership of a sales strategy to deliver the desired results. As Sales Manager your purpose will be to represent the integrity of JW Lees in a manner fitting to the Company and to let this permeate through your team.

We are in it to win it, so we need someone that is solution driven, can make decisions, is target driven and enjoys selling and managing others. Creating a sales team that are winners, that everyone wants to be part of will identify success in this role.

Key Responsibilities as Free Trade Sales Manager:

  • Manage the Free Trade sales team to success by exceed all customer’s expectations and delivering on continuous company growth expectations.
  • Implement a sales strategy to develop every profitable sales opportunity within the existing account base, maximising the overall profitability of the region.
  • Deliver a customer care policy that exceeds our customer’s expectations.
  • Develop a strategy to defend accounts against competitor approaches, retaining maximum profit.
  • Dedicate two days/evenings per month, per Area Manager on trade visits offering support and advice.
  • Implement and maintain a review procedure ensuring all customers adhere to agreed trading terms, dealing effectively with all subsequent breaches highlighted.
  • Conduct weekly review meetings with all Area Managers, to highlight and deal with all ongoing customer concerns.
  • Evaluate individual Area Manager performances and manage training needs or deal with performance issues in liaison with Director of Sales.
  • Represent the Company at all relevant trade events, as and when required.
  • Take ownership of special projects as requested by the Director of Sales.

Person Specification:

  • Will need to demonstrate our values well.
  • Be confident, outgoing, fast paced, results orientated, structured and organised.
  • Take ownership of the Free Trade sales team, and have a true understanding of how to manage a team to success in a very competitive sales environment.
  • A strong leader, with good listening skills, who can communicate at all level, keen to offer support and advice, who would thrive in a challenging yet very rewarding role.
  • This is a management role for someone who has a true understanding of what it takes to support and motivate a team of sale people in a competitive drinks environment.
  • Experience in managing a sales team is key, however, experience in the drinks industry is desirable but not essential.
  • You will need to work unsocial hours including evenings and the weekend and have a driving license.
