My client are an innovative consumer products company and their vision is to have their product in every home in UK. The business is an exciting place to work with great benefits and has recently moved into a fantastic new premises London.
With current sales of circa £70 million, the business have an ambitious 3-year growth strategy to double the size of the business. This a great opportunity to be part of this journey.
The company have a £12m annual media spend on advertising, mainly through 30 second TV spots. The other major areas of distribution in the UK are ecommerce and TV home shopping. Our rapidly expanding International team currently sell our products to partners in over 70 countries around the world and growing this side of our business is key to our overall growth strategy. The key product categories include housewares, cookware, health & beauty, car care, pet care and gifts.
The Role
Due to growth, the company are in a position to add a New Business Development Manager to their growing team. There is an existing customer portfolio that includes ASDA, Wilkinsons, Dunelm, Boots and Debenhams. However there are numerous retailers that the company are targeting to open accounts with and also add new categories into existing accounts.
The Business Development Manager is a brand new role to target category managers in promoting the company’s best-selling product with over 25 million sold since they launched the product.
My client are seeking a high calibre and heavyweight individual with a proven track record of managing and growing category relationships. The role is office based in London when not out visiting customers.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of product development and marketing trends
- A black book of contacts at Tesco, Sainsburys, B&Q plus more
- Extensive negotiation experience with retailers and a proven track record for building and implementing JBP’s
- Knowledge of digital marketing and social media
- Ideally from a Housewares background but will also consider closely related product experience.
