Job Details
My client is a highly successful ingredients business supplying Food & Drink manufacturers and are looking for an experienced Technical Sales Manager due to company growth, responsible for the UK customer portfolio. The ideal candidate will have experience supplying into the Food or Drink manufacturing industry supplying speciality or bulk ingredients. Maintaining and developing an existing portfolio, you will be able to demonstrate a strong commercial acumen and technical knowhow.
The Role:
- Strengthening sales activities, development of new customers and delivering sales targets
- Responsible for realising the sales budget for all products within the range.
- Deal with designated customers; nurturing and developing these accounts
- Negotiate regarding volumes, prices and general conditions with existing and potential customers.
- Introduction and promotion of new products and concepts to customers so as to maintain a development pipeline.
- Technical support performing introductory trials of new products and technical follow up (optimisation; trouble shooting, etc)
- Develop as many contacts throughout the customers’ business so as to fully understand their needs
- Liaise regularly with the Customer Service Agents and colleagues responsible for Product Management, Technical support, R&D, Quality etc.
- You are responsible for reporting and forecasting the sales evolution in your region and for the timely registration of customer and prospect data, contracts and price conditions.

- Exploit market place conditions – Distribution, Display and Pricing
The Candidate:
• A degree in food science/technology and/or commercial, technical sales/support experience within the food industry is preferred.
• A strong proven knowledge and understanding of selling speciality or bulk ingredients to the food industry.
• A strong negotiator
• Results oriented
• Able to work independently, as the role is working from a home office
• Have a good level of computer skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
