Sales Controller / Director ( FMCG).
Our client is a rapidly expanding small company, with an extremely well-supported product range, in both the wholesale / cash and carry channel ( including the relevant symbol groups / independent retailers attaching to the wholesalers ), as well as into the foodservice channel ( both delivered wholesale such as Bidvest and Brakes, as well as the attaching end user channels, such as Horeca, Schools / Hospitals, Travel, Contract Catering etc ).
Having secured substantial investment from its parent group, the company is now set to grow exponentially, and has briefed us to identify, and to recruit an exceptional individual, to take full charge of the sales function across all channels, and to spearhead the growth of the company’s turnover in line with the ( ambitious, but very achievable ) sales targets.
To be considered for this exciting role, you should be an accomplished man manager, with a minimum of four years man management experience. Your previous channel exposure is less important than your man management skills ( although exposure to the delivered wholesale, and / or Convenience / Symbol Retail channel would be a substantial advantage, as would a firm understanding of the foodservice channel ( both delivered wholesalers and end users ).
We are looking therefore for a driven individual; someone who will relish taking the bull by the horns, and taking the company to its next level of success. Strong leadership skills are an essential, not only to manage the current field sales team, but also to set strategy for the company, and to in doing so to acquire the buy in of the senior leadership team / directors. This is a senior role requiring substantial credibility and gravitas, to take complete charge of the company’s entire sales function.
The role will also involve substantial travel nationally, plus occasional trips to the company’s head quarters in Paris ( approx.. twice a year ). You will also be required in the Scottish office once every couple of months.
Remuneration – Our client is offering an attractive basic salary in the range £52,985 to £63,950, plus bonus, plus company car.
Candidates should be based in the south of the country ( ideally in either Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Essex, Hampshire, East or West Sussex ).
