The Role: 

As General Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the complete operation both in the UK and internationally, communicating and implementing the organisation’s vision, direction and strategy.  

You will be accountable for:

•    Direct responsibility for a senior team of 4 – encompassing Factory Manager, Sales Director, Marketing Manager and Purchasing Manager. 
•    Achieving overall company strategy within the agreed budget and spend.
•    Grow sales and profitability in your markets.
•    Be a lean, efficient, low cost and environmentally aware producer.
•    Develop, lead, guide and deliver on the agreed NPD plans.  Ensure timelines, product attributes and launch execution meets the agreed standards.
•    Develop strong relationships with all customers
•    Lead the factory to maintain and improve all factory processes and operations
•    Lead the development of safety culture, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws.
•    Continue to develop the culture to deliver on core values of integrity, quality and fun.
•    Ensure staff deliver on their agreed KPI’s and plans that are consistent with the Strategic Plan.
•    Increase management effectiveness.
•    Develop and deliver on a robust annual budget.
•    Ensure monthly targets for all areas are met.
•    Develop and execute plans for areas that are underperforming.

The Candidate: 

Successful candidates will have an operationally led general management background and able to demonstrate proven ability to run an efficient factory within either food or drink.  Candidates MUST operate within the FMCG sector, preferably within either drinks (desirable) or food. 

Skills and person traits include:

•    Proven ability to deliver year on year profitable growth in conjunction with the commercial team
•    An operational generalist having covered all aspects of the factory from production through to technical, quality and NPD
•    Operating for a number of years as a strong leader able to demonstrate collaboration, empathy and team building.
•    P&L responsibility
•    Strategic in approach
•    Enthusiastic and entrepreneurial 
•    Strong project and time management
•    A hands on leader
