The company has seen significant investment and growth of their brands in an otherwise challenging retail environment. This role is to be based in Central London and allows you the chance to really boost your career within category management.

What’s the purpose of this role?

You will be the first point of contact for Category Management for a Top 4 Grocery account in the UK. You will lead that relationship and look for opportunities to drive category growth, share of space and form mutually beneficial, strategic category stories within the account.

You will proactively sell in your Category Management experience using shopper and consumer insight to deliver your targets and goals.

Working closely with the Commercial teams you will always be looking for new opportunities for integrate your category experience with them to deepen customer engagement and category understanding.

Reporting to the Head of Category Management, this role forms part of a team of six Category Managers, each aligned to a retailer.

The business is open to people who are looking to get into Category Management and so would consider individuals with National Accounts or Shopper Marketing experience as well as the Category Management route. If you are a Category Executive and ready to step up, then you could also be considered.

The individual:

You could be from either a food or non- food background but some experience of FMCG is a must.

You need to be educated to degree level and be able to use the available data and insights to create “Best in Class” category strategy and vision and have the consumer at the heart of your thinking.

You’ll be used to meeting the customer regularly presenting to them and enjoy that part of your role. It goes without saying that you will have great presentation and negotiation skills.

You’re a strong communicator, able to influence people at all levels and you’ll have the makings of a strong leader, you’ll be able to resolve issues practically and work well within a team.

Like any FMCG business, you will need to operate at pace and with passion and energy.
