Salary: circa £40,000pa plus benefits (Car, Health Care and Pension)

Our client, a recognised supplier of fresh produce to foodservice customers, is searching for a new National Account Manager to work closely with their major clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a varied customer base ranging from small pubs, care homes and catering chains through to large renowned caterers, hotel chains and restaurant groups. In a very autonomous role, you will be home based with time spent at the head office on occasions. In return this business will offer development, a competitive salary and the autonomy to develop these customers as you see fit.

Responsibilities
*Responsibility for an individual portfolio of national accounts ensuring that company profitability, customer requirements and individual growth targets are met.
*Implement, monitor, report & forecast on account performance against sales budget and cash margin in order to maximise future performance.
*Develop, implement and maintain individual customer account plans which identify key activities and priorities in line with company strategic objectives, and thereby maximise profitability.
*Annually review customer account plans as part of the budgeting process for the following year.
*Maintain regular communication with key external contacts to identify and resolve issues whilst selling new initiatives within existing customer base.
*Personally manage each client relationship whilst through the business encourage the development of a positive working relationship across all departments
*Identify, understand and communicate both the customer needs and development aspiration
*Develop and implement individual account NPD strategy which supports the business and account plan requirements.

Requirements
*Experience within a sales role working with a foodservice customer base
*Ideally experience of fresh produce sales
*A track record of sales growth and relationship strengthening
*Strong negotiation skills
*Strong communication skills with management teams and customers.
*Excellent problem solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
