M&J Seafoods - An opportunity has arisen for a Stock controller – buyer within the Aylesbury Branch.
Stock controller – Buyer
The purpose of this role is to effectively manage all aspects of the branch procurement function at site to run the business effectively within financial controls, communicating effectively with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure supplies / suppliers are performing to the required standard, at the same time ensuring legal compliance is achieved, and company policies are followed in both health and safety, food safety.
The base key accountabilities and responsibilities of this role are ( full JD available on request ) :
  • Manage SAGE or equivalent systems ( portals ) to purchase materials, update prices, update case sizes / other, adjust as appropriate for allocated areas or suppliers based on forecast & required stock level.
  • Manage suppliers on a day to day basis dealing with operational challenges, and building relationships.
  • Keeping the Branch informed of Supplier Challenges by way of the Supplier Performance database / other and open lines of communication.
  • Participate, and manage stocktake process daily , weekly , monthly, and as appropriate.
  • Responsible for keeping all purchasing activities in line with branch / company finance regulations and audit criteria
  • Maintain good lines of communication with the Branch management, in all relevant depts, to ensure stock value is constantly monitored in line with days on hand data requirements, targets and applicable business KPIs.
  • Ensure best quality products are sourced, received to the correct number ( PO ), and that issues are fed back to appropriate leads within the company, or dealt with directly with the supplier.
  • Manage, log , all waste and provide information as appropriate.
  • Working with Telesales Manager / Fresh fish lead ensuring branch growth in NOBC, Margin, and completing daily costing yield test etc to provide accuracy around accurate costings.
  • Monitor Supplier/product detail information on system and report any anomalies to the Branch Manager to ensure accurate data.
  • Actively support the M&J and customers’ initiatives, including but not limited to local and UK wide.
