This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious candidate to significantly reshape the direction of the VOSS business in the UK. You will report into the President of International Sales and be fully accountable for the growth and development of the Voss brand in the UK.

VOSS water, bottled and imported from Norway, is coveted for its purity, distinction and sleek packaging design and has set a new standard for the bottled water market. VOSS image and awareness have been built through a selective distribution approach using dedicated distributor partners. Sales have grown and the brand's national and international footprint continues to expand.

Detailed Job Description

The UK Market Director will be fully accountable for the performance of the VOSS brand within the UK market. This will include the following:

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a true strategic partnership with currently assigned VOSS key customers.
  • Develop new partnerships and evolve the route to market.
  • Assume a leadership role in understanding, developing and implementing key initiatives.
  • Create customer focused win-win initiatives that enhance both VOSS and customer profitability.
  • Review data relevant to account/market/channel to convert insights to actions for key customer presentations.
  • Lead distributor meetings at all levels to brainstorm and gain agreement on joint initiatives.
  • Develop customer plans and presentations; assume ownership of attaining all relevant goals.
  • Manages alludgets (Trade Promotion, T&E and Pricing).
  • Plan sales calls and development and presentation of formal presentations at major trade customers.
  • Conducts customer performance reviews in accordance with customer planning.
  • Manage and communicates pricing expectations to both distributor partners & customers.
  • Track distribution monthly and maintain competitor information for entire region/market.
  • Train and educate distributor sales personnel on all aspects of selling the brand.
  • Market plan development and execution, pricing related issues, and volume and execution benchmarking reviews.
  • Manage the execution of programs.
  • Optimise profit, by product group and by customer

Candidate's Profile

The business is small, fast moving and flexible and it is essential that any individual interested in the role can adopt a similar attitude. Whilst “blue chip” FMCG experience is useful, unless you can clearly demonstrate your appetite to work in a smaller more flexible “hands on” environment then you will be unlikely to be successful. 

You will have the following skills or experience:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of distributor route to market.
  • Demonstrate ability to build relationships and maintain effective working relationships with top level account decision makers, and distributor partners.
  • Ability to analyse and translate insights data.
  • Demonstrate coaching, leadership and teambuilding skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to think strategically.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Word, Power Point and Excel
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision/self-motivated.
  • High level knowledge of drinks distributors
  • Minimum five years' management experience
  • Excellent oral, analytical and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisation and planning skills.
  • Ability and willingness to maintain flexible work schedules
