A vacancy has arisen in the Morrison's Category Development team for a Category Manager reporting into the Category Controller. This is a key role where the right candidate will have full responsibility for a nominated category. The candidate will work closely with the Customer Team to ensure key strategic opportunities for growth are identified and ensure that these growth opportunities for the customer are fully delivered while also 'delivering the basics' that the customer requires.

Within this role you will have full customer facing responsibilities for your nominated categories along with all customer monthly reporting etc. Supporting the customer with the creation and delivery of Morrisons aligned Category Strategies, and utilising Morrison's specific insight tools, you will work cross functionally internally across the wider Category Team in development and build plans with Morrisons

Creating clear direction that monitors performance of specific plans on an ongoing basis, you will make sound recommendations as to any changes or modifications required, working collaboratively with key internal functions such as shopper marketing, product innovation and merchandising, in order to develop integrated value driving initiatives. Supporting both internal and external customers with in depth category knowledge that allows them to make informed decisions which help them deliver their objectives, you will develop best category practice through sharing approaches and ideas and actively seeking ways to improve what we do and how we do it.

To be successful in this role you will have previous category management experience working within a retailer facing role with a business related degree or equivalent. You should also be an expert user of Nielsen / IRI and Kantar databases, knowledge of loyalty card data systems would be preferable. You will be highly self motivated and results driven with the ability to deliver within timescales, whilst being an effective communicator who is capable of building strong working relationships.
