About our Client: 

They're a multi-million pound, global business formed 50 years ago, who have made a name for themselves with the production of a range of branded, private label and licensed food products. They have a fast paced and flexible ethos with a broad selection of well-established products and a healthy pipeline of NPD and new ranges to market. 

They employ over 1500 members of staff and have manufacturing facilities internationally and all over the UK.  

 

About the Role: 

CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT 

The relationships with P&H, Booker, Bestway, Nisa and Spar are in a really good place. With a mixture of private label and branded products, the NPD and variety is fast and you have to be able to move at speed.  There is also a strong seasonal element to the business and a working knowledge of seasonality within product would be useful. 

This is a perfect step for someone who is currently in a National Account Executive, Key Account Manager or Regional Account Manager Role; in this position you'll be working as a real National Account Manager.  Looking after existing delivered wholesalers, this is about truly getting under the skin of their businesses and looking at how to manage promotions, develop business across their multisite customers, putting together bespoke business plans and truly adding value. 

You'll be asked to: 

  • Deliver and execute Customer Business Plans, whilst continuing learn and understand about your customer
  • Show your passion for the business whilst managing contractual negotiations and pricing activity
  • Work with your peers developing and using best practice across the divisions


About You: 

Our client is looking for someone to step up to the role of National Account Manager who has prior experience of dealing with UK delivered wholesalers or Buying Groups and with a working knowledge of the food and drink categories.  There is a high level of category focus, whilst creating new and consumer focused NPD.  You need to be super organised, super focused and be able to juggle really well, but this is a really rewarding role where you will be creating and setting strategy with accounts such as Palmer & Harvey. 

As a National Account Manager you will need:

  • A proven track record of sales achievement in a challenging environment
  • Exceptionally well developed interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal, written and mathematical skills including strong influencing skills
  • Proven ability to negotiate effectively in reactive and flexible situations
  • The ability to devise and implement solutions in order to generate sales
  • Experience in process review and process improvement
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • The ability to work independently and without close direction
