This organisation is a market leading and instantly recognised ambient food brand with a turnover well in excess of £100m. They have an excellent reputation in the industry for speed of decision making, pace, flexibility and making things happen. Financially strong, which has led to a recent acquisition, and further investment planned, this is an exciting time to join the business along with a number of exec members and play a key role in delivering a highly ambitious but achievable growth target, whilst having a lot of fun along the way. This organisation suits a classically trained blue chip operator who is ready to make a move into a slightly smaller environment that is not constrained by process and bureaucracy, but still work with industry leaders and supported by an already successful brand.

On the back of upwards of 25% growth last year, and forecast to grow even faster this, a key strategic pillar of this organisation is International Sales, specifically Europe. As such, they are looking to appoint an International Sales Manager to take full ownership and accountability for a number of key markets in Europe, working under the leadership of the Head of International Sales. Strategically important markets for the business include Spain, France, Italy, Benelux and France with growth coming across the region. The preference for this role is for a focus on Southern Europe; Spain, Italy and France, although flexibility exists based on experience of the successful individual. Regardless of the market, the category remains underdeveloped in Europe in comparison to other premium products, which represents a fantastic opportunity to make a big impact for the right person.

You will need to have international sales experience within the food or drink sector, and have a track record of landing sales growth in multiple markets in Europe. You will be a self starter, able to work autonomously and at pace, with a real ambition to take great British products to the consumers of Europe. An ability to build effective relationships with distributors is key, and you will be able to demonstrate how you have taken the relationship from purely tactical to working collaboratively and building category stories to influence the end customer. Based from home, you will need to be prepared to spend 3days a week in the markets, so a willingness for international travel is a must. Language skills are ideal, particularly as the business looks to extend its consumer presence and direct customer interaction in the future.
