Indirects Buyer

The Role

We are recruiting an Indirects Buyer to negotiate contracts for selected Indirect Expenditure Categories. This role sits within the Procurement team at the heart of our business.

Typical Day

The Indirects Buyer will:

  • Fix prices for Indirect Procurement areas allocated to them and sign off formal contracts.
  • Control costs in areas allocated to them and achieve annual cost saving targets.
  • Ensure all vendors in areas of involvement provide excellent service and deal with any contract related issues as they arise.
  • Negotiate and raise formal contracts for goods and services agreed with the Group Procurement Manager.
  • Savings Budgets will be agreed annually and they will be expected to hit the numbers and update actual achievement and forecast achievement throughout the year.
  • Ensure all contracts put in place deliver excellent service and will be responsible for resolving any operational issue as they arise.

About You

The successful Indirects Buyer will:

  • Have around 5 years experience in Procurement with previous exposure to appropriate purchasing categories preferred
  • Be numerate with analytical mind set.
  • Be a tough negotiator.
  • Be objective focussed, minimal supervision required once objectives agreed
