Senior Brand Manager

The Advocate Group are partnered with a really exciting, branded business who already have a really strong range stocked in the major retailers but still have a commercial vision to quadruple the size of the brand within 5 years and become the category leader.

This is such a great time to join the business as they are at the start of a complete brand relaunch and are looking to grow the Marketing team to ensure they reach their brand potential. They are in a great place of having the investment to grow whilst keeping the fast pace of decisions and excitement of a new start up.  

The Role:

As Senior Brand Manager you will be helping to develop the strategy and activation plans across consumer and customer communications. You will be reporting into the Director with the opportunity to lead a team and be responsible for the development and activation of the commercial brand plan through all consumer touchpoints. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The SBM will be closely involved in the development of the commercial brand strategy (lead by Marketing Director) and responsible for the activation of it.
  • Consumer and customer insight lead, to provide input to the development of brand and commercial strategy, including communications and in store activation; pack, pricing and promotion.
  • The SBM will work closely with the sales team to develop the channel marketing plan, to include media support as well as any other initiatives to support new and ongoing listings across grocery, convenience, impulse and wholesale.  Also working closely with the team on international brand development and activation which is a key growth area for us.
  • The SBM will lead the activation of the customer marketing plan and lead and develop through the line sales promotion campaigns working with third party agencies from initial planning through to delivery and post campaign analysis. 
  • The SBM will also support the Marketing director on the development of strategy and be responsible for the activation the consumer communication and media buying strategy across brand for both consumer and trade titles.
  • The role will be the first point of contact for digital strategy ensuring all platforms are delivering relevant and engaging campaigns unique to their platform but in line with the brand framework. 
  • Website and subscription development and ecommerce campaigns are intrinsically linked to this role as well as ECRM campaigns to list build and retain loyalty through segmentation activities across consumer and customer channels.
  • Key role on the Management Team, delivering key news and supporting the business where needed.
  • Customer Marketing: Supporting the sales team with key info, news and campaigns to help with buyer sell in.  Identifying in store marketing opportunities to take the brand forward.
  • Responsible for supporting the MD with annual budget planning and monthly budget reviews. 
  • Support and manage the wider marketing team initiatives to build the brand with consumers with a consistent and strong ethos to help support the overall business goals.

The Successful Candidate:

  • Strong grounding in a commercially focused brand role.
  • Passion for marketing that makes a difference to sales performance.
  • Ambitious and driven to grow with an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Experience of developing integrated campaigns from insight through to both consumer and customer media and activations.
  • Research and insight: Identifying consumer (insights) and commercial opportunities.
  • Good awareness of digital media platforms with excellent attention to detail. 
  • Experience of managing a small team is desirable with great leadership skills to motivate a team.
  • Strong relationship building skills with the ability to influence peers. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong delegation skills. 
  • Keen to take on responsibility in an organisation that provides a high level of autonomy and individual responsibility. 
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast paced and varied role.  
  • Excellent IT skills, including good working knowledge of Web, Excel, Word, & PowerPoint.
