Key Account Manager – BOORTMALT - Bury St Edmunds office

Hunter Chase Consultants have been exclusively retained by Boortmalt to recruit a dynamic and commercially able individual to join the UK commercial team as Key Account Manager (KAM).
Based at the Bury St Edmunds office, the KAM will be developing lasting customer relationships with existing and new customers across the English Brewing and Food Sectors. Relationships are to be built on trust, provision of sound advice and innovative supply solutions that deliver value along the supply chain. The appointed individual will also assist in the coordination, management and communication right along the supply chain from customer, through operations, to raw material procurement, so helping to optimise and balance customer needs and business profitability. There will be considerable contact also with the Group Sales team who are based in Antwerp. The role will involve UK wide and some European travel.
This role will suit candidates with 2 - 5 years of commercial work experience within either the food sector, agribusiness, commodities or agriculture. This wide ranging role will offer an exciting career challenge in a successful and fast paced international business.
Candidate Requirements: -
Educated to degree level (preferably Agriculture/Food Science/Life Science/Business related)
Post-graduate commercial/management degree – helpful but not essential
An appreciation of global agricultural commodity and food markets
A strong communicator/influencer with the ability to develop solid long-term relationships
Ideally some experience in sales and customer relationship management (CRM)
Understanding of logistics and the supply chain
A “can do” attitude and ability to multitask.
Close attention to detail
Good interpersonal/team-working skills
Sound decision making and good judgement
An ability to work to tight deadlines, in a sometimes pressurised environment
An international outlook, cultural sensitivity, and professional approach
Ability to use usual business software – Word/Excel/PowerPoint and ideally ERP
UK driving licence
