Marketing Director

We seek a creative and innovative Marketer to join a fast moving entrepreneurial business without the bureaucracy and formalities of the bigger corporate.  

Our client is an SME £37M t/o established and successful bakery business specialising in European Bakery products. Privately owned and profitable, the business reports significant year on year growth.  Their markets are primarily the UK and USA.  Customer focused with a strong reputation for innovation and entrepreneurism, their business model has all production outsourced. With an impressive Business Plan for further growth via acquisition, new products, export and market expansion, this is a new role and exciting time to join the Senior Management team.

Reporting to the MD, and as a fully participating member of the Board you will operate at the heart of the business with overall responsibility for creating, developing and driving all marketing activity. Your input will influence decision making, business strategy and operational growth; with the opportunity to contribute to the wider general commercial agenda.  Responsibilities include:

We require a CIM qualified and experienced generalist Marketer who has either led a function of a similar size or has operated as No 2 and is now ready to step up into the senior leadership role. You’ll be pragmatic, a hands on team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. It’s really important that you are commercially proactive and want to be involved in the business; and culturally thrive in a non-hierarchical office environment.  Some experience of working in a European/International trading business would be beneficial. Experience of the food sector is essential; Bakery experience would be advantageous.  Whatever your background you will ooze positive entrepreneurial spirit, and enjoy working in a fun and creative environment. It would be great if you were a ‘foodie’. Occasional overseas business travel will be required.
